Monument Signs

A monument sign is a freestanding, ground-level structure that sits low to the earth rather than on a pole. Because it reads at driver eye level at the point of entry, it does the job a pylon cannot: it identifies the entrance itself and gives a property a permanent, built-in-place presence.

Construction varies widely by budget and setting. Aluminum-clad cabinets with routed and push-through acrylic graphics are the most common commercial build. Masonry monuments — brick, stone veneer, or stucco over a block core — tie the sign to the architecture of the building behind it and typically last as long as the property. Both can carry internally illuminated cabinets, external ground-mounted lighting, or no illumination at all.

Monuments are foundation work as much as sign work. Each one requires an engineered footing sized for the structure and local wind load, which means a site survey, a utility locate, and concrete work before anything is set. Every unit is designed, fabricated, and installed by Flite Signs from our Houston facility, with permit-ready drawings prepared before fabrication begins and a five-year warranty on completed work.
